History

The Fabulous BB Kings started in 1986 as a school band. When Richard Harrison, a bass playing music teacher, decided a Soul band would be far more fun than an orchestra The Fabulous BB Kings were born. They were named after the school: Brookes Bank - "BB" - Clever eh? Instead of Haydn and Bach, students were playing Otis Reading and Wilson Picket.

Richard single handedly ran, organised and managed the band for the first few years of its life before other people eventually took over the responsibilities.

Over the years, members have left and been replaced but the unmistakable Soul sound and spirit is still present to this day.
